Fort Sam Army Navy 1031 Rittiman Rd. at Harry Wurzbach next door to the Time Out Club where the J. Whipple Band is playing Fri. and Sat. has a 64 ft. half moon of parachute material for $40. I have the nylon rope, we could make some hammocks. The surplus store is there right now but the show was Fri. and Sat. of 1984.

could invite the owner of that shop to the woodzie
mix him with Mike, Pat and my Dad and we could have an insurgency. They'd probably start an air force by building a helicopter out of found objects.
I did actually talk to the owner of that store today and he's going to Killeen tomorrow and is coming back with some $39 military hammocks with the full mesh mosquito netting. Single guys, get one of those and you wouldn't need a tent.
I love that place! It's the real deal. Not like that fakey National Army Surplus over on San Pedro.
us single guys will all be coming with a double tent and an unrealistic perception of our chances.
what a zinger. yaaa..ouch. I'm trading my double pup tent back in for a hammock.
And the best of luck to you there Ted!
After spending years in the BSA, I've learned to always go into the Woodz prepared. (Do the Boy Scouts of America even exist anymore?)
Allantown will be populated with three beautiful hippie wimmin, four kids...and it's good to be me!
I hope I don't get in trouble with the state attorney general's office for having a cult...we worship beer!
Glenn, we worship beer AND whiskey! (guess we need one more thing for the holy trinity, but that is all I have for now.) I am so excited about Saturday that it is getting hard to contain myself!
Robyn, your Homemade Kahlua would be the third item in the Holy Trinity of Booze!
If you need help containing yourself, call me on the hotline!
You should caravan with us on Saturday. There will probably be extra room in the Caravan (Dodge) for your stuff and Molly might dig riding in your sports car.
Caravan sounds great! and I was just telling Lynne that I was going to have to get the bungee cords out or make two trips, in order to get all of my loot up there! Molly isn't afraid of puppies is she? Sancho is going to fall in love with her! Kahlua does round out the trinity, thanks for adding order back into my world!
Well, I'm glad nobody likes red wine - more for Muses!......the case I said I'd bring doesn't seem to qualify for the "trinity"!! (No, you can't use it as marinade!!!!!)
Ted...you might want to consult with a Woodzie Muse......they might tell your fortune/future (Woodzie Muse Patrice is pretty good at reading palms), help you with mate sitings, or.............
Oh we love red wine, Patrice!
I LOVE red wine! I particularly love a Clasico Reserva Chianti, by Gabiano or any of the other fine makers. I love Valpoliccella, and the wonderful
super Tuscans made with some combination of the magnificent Sangiovesse grape. Please don't lump me in with wine haters. Serve it slightly chilled (60 degrees) with some procuitto and fresh mozzerlla balls and melon....mmmmm. Now that is a muse
...mmmmmm... a saucy little 1 gal. jug of Carlo Rossi Paisano Red, impudent yet dependable? It's not just for breakfast anymore... :)
Red Wine is fantastic, but it makes me feel like I should have gone to confession.
I didn't say we were actually gonna drink any this weekend! The Woodzie is traditionally a beer and whiskey bender!
Hey, didn't I just see you? Say "hi" to my wife for me!
Robyn and Lynne,
Glen slaved away to make lovely accommodations for you and the clan. He has built a nomadic city in the trees worthy of a Persian princess! Be sure to say at least one or two nice things to him....he stubbed his toe and smacked hid head in the gallant effort!
Patrick:
Fort Sigel still stands....her banners waving gallantly in the wind, having with stood the fury of mother nature, and unscathed by maurading coons and possums. God save the Queen!
Dang, Mike! All I left was a raggedy-assed little tent, and now it's a fortress? Cool! It's like spontaneous generation! John's got a corner on spontaneous combustion--guess all that's left is the spontaneous firedancing!:) PS: ETA @1730. PS
I have a gig tonight at the Kup, an hour and a half starting at 7pm, and then I gotta unload all my stuff. I may just roll out in the morning.
Glenn is a Prince! He is our Cult (BWK) leader and an all around great guy. Lucky for us, no doubt! Thanks, Glenn - I hope that your head and toe are okay!
Jimmie is going to setup our tent tonight. I'm not allowed. Our camping gear is divided into two groups, what's in good working order which seems to be called "here, hand me that" and the broken stuff which seems to be called "here, fix this!".
You just saw me Robyn, I'm fine. Mike is embelishing as he likes to do. He's just never seen our family style camp before. That's how we do it. We're in the woodz, but we don't have to live like hobos. Besides , you girls deserve it!
Speaking of hobos, What's up with the Hobo Festival in Kyle? Has anyone else seen that?
Sorry I had to leave John. Had to pick up Lynne from work and Vann was melting...
See everyone maƱana!
I am just so excited that I cannot stand myself - or stop cooking! Thank goodness for the Caravan...and there has been a whole bunch of butter and bacon grease involved in everything - true southern style! Glenn - I did see you and you looked TIRED! You are still a prince and I think that you deserve all of the embellishment that Michael gave you!
John, back in the day, I just used to ask where the drill and circular saw were to get things fixed. Jimmie's method is a true testament to your longevity! I am looking forward to meeting you both and thank you, in advance for my new home for a night!
Michael - maybe Ottoman Empire, but Persian we are not...couldn't be more freckles between the two of us! I think that if anything, Glenn just rebuilt Bavaria (just think BEER!) Thanks, Glenn!
I'm home!!!.....I'm home!!!!.......and it's off to Woodzie......how early may I come to get The Muse Pagoda set up and unload? Will someone please message me at www.myspace.com/woodsiemuses with a cell phone number...I'd like to call when I arrive.
Mucho Gusto con Amore`...by the way, no hammocks from down south.....thay have become capitalists and wanted too much. If I remember before I leave....in a cupla hours......I will get the ones i have......
Luvsya!! I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
excited!!!!!
come up now. The sun's up and we're starting to mill around.
I'll send you a phone number.
