the next big step is

the t-shirt and poster logo....

It's almost like the Woodzie spirit can't get going until we have a flag to fly. Jimmie and Taylor and I worked on this tonight. I hope everybody likes it... I gotta tell you that I'm lovin' it. Jimmie's just such an awesome artist. She was aiming for and captured something in her distinctive style that we all recognize but this time with some kind of little 2 percent extra Picasso angle; ultra simple so that you notice the exaggeration of the guitar neck and headstock that matches the exaggeration in the hands. That's the whole statement, what's happening in the hands. It's beautiful - almost looks like a song. Hold onto to your Woodzie shirt collection because they have great love. Believe that good things happen to you when you wear them. Why not? Those who've collected the complete set over the years can tell you that the Hippie Girl started out as a tree in the first t-shirt, danced around the fire in the next, shook a tambourine in front of the moon last year and now.... holds a tex-mex folk art guitar. Perfect in the series. We're going to do a very limited run of $10 t-shirts again so if you want to make sure you get your size in your color let us know in advance. We're going to follow the example of our Super Happy Funland friends and hand print some on recycled shirts. I promise you, those will be the coolest ones.

Yeah! I love it. I have a semi-decent collection of cool recycled shirts to be screened. I'll make a trek to Thrift Town again this weekend.

Talk about going full circle; a concern for our yongest son each year is whether or not he can wear the newest model of Woodzie shirt to school - true, each year she gets a little more naked. I told him breaking the dress code is part of the 1971 Woodzie pledge of allegiance. The very first Woodzie I ever had anything to do with had that as a backdrop - it was very loosely arranged around protesting the Roovesvelt High School dress code. We had a rock band named "Blues Stone" play in some empty woods on Salado Creek by Eisenhower and Rittiman Rd. Had a rented generator. We were all going to go back to school on Monday and girls were going to wear jeans instead of dresses and we were all going to wear our ridiculous elephant bell bottom pants. With all the patches. So the naked Hippie girl is part of the history. Did we all go back in hippie clothes? I don't remember. The 1960's came to San Antonio in 1972 and the school gave up on their own. That's my story. Vicki, I'll make sure you get those t-shirts.

I just love the Woodzie girl logo. We are all naked underneath the emperor's clothes, we can only hope to be that beautiful. This whole thing seems to be as beautiful as that drawing

Something tan/brown/OD/earth-colored in a recycled LARGE will be perfect, John, thanks. :)

Pat, I hope others noticed it - I loved your comment on MySpace about termites. "Why be worried about mosquitoes we should be worried about terminates". I took it to mean both because it's a Woodzize and second because of all the guitars we'll have there. Funny.

We'll have lots of large and extra large in woody colors.

Thanks for noticing, John, times twice... :) Some like it dry, while others... the youngest among my female offspring tells me, "Dad, you're only funny when you try not to be..." :)Hasta el Sabado! Patricio

Also, the actual quote was: 'Mosquitoes? Shouldn't we be worried about termites?" :)
