Making breakfast for the hung over and/or sleep deprived campers is one of my favorite parts of the Woodzie. Especially the coffee -- when I put a cup in their hand, I receive wordless looks of indescribable gratitude.
You would most welcome and or worshiped with complete gratitude this morning at the "mini" Woodzie. Miss Jimmie showed up just in the nick of time with some strong coffee and egg tacos. as everyone crawled out, tripping on beer bottles and guitar cases.
John, will you amaze and confound the adoring throng of fans with your signature flaming knee trick? Perhaps, for effect, you should just go ahead and wear gasoline pants!
Great, Glenn--NOW you tell us... :)...but what aplomb, elan, panache, poise under fire... I've never seen anyone actively burning in calmer, more natural fashion... Zen Archer at Camp Flaming Arrow... I'm guessing that John cheerfully and spontaneously combusts every once in a while just to stay in practice... :)
Patrick, after you sang your "bad things don't die" around the fire song, especially the proximity to the dead/undead near where we were camped, and the thought of John smiling placidy while his patella and hands were fully engulfed in flames, led to some creepy imagery that made sleep a sketchy proposition. Flame on John! you are the coolest under ( and on ) fire! like a superhero hippie!
WHAT: The Woodzie WHAT? Festival In The Woods HOW: Coleman Lanterns WHEN: Next Woodzie is Spring 2009 BRING: Your Camping Stuff, A Casserole And A Woodzie State Of Mind. WHERE: Near FM 1102 and Hoffman Lane in New Braunfels, TX
The WOODZIE is a very small, very cool, very simple one day music festival on 32 tree covered acres in the Texas Hill Country. It's not commercial in any way, not associated with any business, religion or ulterior motive; it's just us. There is no charge. Great music, great food, a great time strictly for those relaxed enough to appreciate a fine day out in the country. It's all word of mouth - the bottom line is that if you are reading this you and your friends and family, as long as they are peaceful souls, are welcome. Please bring a covered dish to help feed everybody - this is a singer/songwriter event but also very much a big potluck bar-b-que dinner and nature experience. Having a huge picnic and playing guitars out in the woods is pretty hard to beat. Try to get here by early Saturday afternoon and yes you can drive out on Saturday night but please try to camp over - that's part of what makes this thing unique. Bring your songs, we sing around the campfire all night. If you're lucky enough to be able to make the time to get out here you'll never forget it.

Kim, it's so nice of you to do the cowboy breakfast. That was one of the first "this needs to be a ritual" things that anybody started.
And yes, I set my knee on fire. It's fine. About medium rare.
The micro woodzie was awesome.
I should have warned you guys, don't EVER give John a can of gasoline!
