I talked to SHFL (that's how they refer to themselves, it's Super Happy Fun Land) and they got their bus running and are importing a dozen or more musical and performance art Hippies of the Houston variety. In one of the shows they pass out toy xylophones and bubble wrap to the crowd to make music with. Bring anything that you even remotely think might fit into that scene. And, if enough adults and kids bring found drum objects like Glenn's Atkin's Diet Drum, we can try a drum circle. Here's what I found for 99 cents at Goodwill last week. I was trying to walk away from it because it's the last thing I needed... but I wanted it, then I happened to try tapping on the metal bracket in the throat of the "megaphone" and damn if it didn't have an amazingly pure conga drum tone. Sold! I'm going to find a way to get a flashlight in there to make the design shine through.
