The Woodzie was AMAZING! You Whipple's and all that we met were just unbelievably cool! Sancho and I thank you, from our toes for letting us share your extremely awesome festival! The weather was fantastic, the food was outstanding, the music was stupendous and the people were awesome! AND, Glenn ROCKS for setting us up with Allantown!!!!! THANK YOU, ALL!
Even though I am home, I feel as if I just left home...... What a pleasant way to spend a weekend! Thank you Jimmie and John for hosting this event. I will forever be a Woodzie Muse who lives on a little pad of wilderness in your woods. The spot you chose for me was perfect John - I'll take it next year too...let's just put a sign up...Muse Pagoda!! I am happy that many folks utilized the Muse Pagoda! (I felt kinda bad pushing people out so I could go to sleep!)
See you all next year! Unless you join Texas Music Coalition and start coming to the panels and events I organize!! The next one is a drum panel with Phil Dalmolin at Sam Ash on May 20, 6:30 pm. (TexasMusicCoalition.com)
wow... best music/camping/picnic experience of my life. now i know why people are dieing for it to come every year. I hope someone got a picture of the didgeridoo. That was wild. I never knew what was going to happen next Everything was mystical and magical
it was great! thanks for having it. And I love this weblog - very funny and enjoyable. I was not expecting the place to be so large or for there to be so many people. But it was the perfect size on both accounts
There was so much going on and such a lot of fun happening in 'the buz zone'that I never made it out to 'the boneyard'!
I was happy to see many people utilizing the Muse Pagoda....There was something there for everyone...from the very young to the oldest onsite! Robyn, your palms are first next year!
I think we should have a planning weekend in the Whipple Woodz......maybe next September or October........maybe in a cupla weekends (hee-hee)
Robyn...that home made Kaluha was seriously potent. So was the stuff the super happy funland people had. I still have a hangover. The never ending smorgas board was super cool too...fried buffalo tounge...bar-b-que shark tail...just a huge fee for all food frenzy. John....what an awsome job you and everybody did. I make my Woodzie resolution this year to not drink near as much next year! I think I had fun, but can't remember how much. I am glad I didn't wind up face down around the fire like some of the super happy funland crew....I made it to the tent.
Missed the Khalua! Michael....never ending thanks from my heart for helping me assemble the Woodzie Muse Pagoda!!!........You are priceless....saw less and less of you as the weekend progressed....now I know where you were!!!
Much love.... and Happy Mother's day where it is applicable!!!
WHAT: The Woodzie WHAT? Festival In The Woods HOW: Coleman Lanterns WHEN: Next Woodzie is Spring 2009 BRING: Your Camping Stuff, A Casserole And A Woodzie State Of Mind. WHERE: Near FM 1102 and Hoffman Lane in New Braunfels, TX
The WOODZIE is a very small, very cool, very simple one day music festival on 32 tree covered acres in the Texas Hill Country. It's not commercial in any way, not associated with any business, religion or ulterior motive; it's just us. There is no charge. Great music, great food, a great time strictly for those relaxed enough to appreciate a fine day out in the country. It's all word of mouth - the bottom line is that if you are reading this you and your friends and family, as long as they are peaceful souls, are welcome. Please bring a covered dish to help feed everybody - this is a singer/songwriter event but also very much a big potluck bar-b-que dinner and nature experience. Having a huge picnic and playing guitars out in the woods is pretty hard to beat. Try to get here by early Saturday afternoon and yes you can drive out on Saturday night but please try to camp over - that's part of what makes this thing unique. Bring your songs, we sing around the campfire all night. If you're lucky enough to be able to make the time to get out here you'll never forget it.
